Upcycled & Refashioned

We take unworn and unloved clothes that have potential and transform them into something new and exciting. This could be done by shortening the sleeves or hemline, adding embellishments, or completely changing it into a totally new garment or product. Check out our clothing transformations to imagine how we can help you revamp your closet.

Mending & Alterations

Fxing the clothes you already have and love is a great way to create a more sustainable wardrobe. We offer the simple fixes to allow you to wear your clothes longer. Hit the button below to check out the services we offer.

Custom & Commissioned

Like something that you’ve seen us do, or have something else in mind? Let us know your ideas and we might just be able to bring them to life!

Closet Cleanout

Whether your clothes are in perfect or awful condition, we will accept your unworn and unwanted clothing to find a way to extend their lifespan. That could be in the form of a clothing swap, passing them along to local consignors, refashioning or upcycling them, or if they are not in good enough shape to wear, using them as stuffing for a pouffe.

We are not accepting any clothing, fabric, or fabric scrap donations at this time.

What is Upcycled and Refashioned Clothing?

Upcycling is taking an object and transforming it into something new from its natural form which adds value.

It differs from recycling because the product does not need to be broken down to create something new. Upcycling is making a skirt from a pair of jeans, or think of the clothes Maria makes out of curtains in the Sound of Music.

Refashioning is altering clothes to create a better fit, add or retract certain features, or bring it to this decade.

Why Upcycle or Refashion your clothes?

It can extend the life of garments that are otherwise doomed for the landfill, a storage container, incinerator, can put obsolete garments into regular rotation reducing the demand for new items to be produced, and it can save you money by turning clothes collecting dust in your drawer into something you wear all the time.

Not a New Idea

Repairing and repurposing clothing used to be the most common thing to do. Why did it stop?

With the rise of capitalism and fast fashion, it became cheaper to buy something new when an item is wrecked than it is to repair it.

The skill of small repairs has unfortunately been lost in the younger generations. How many people know how to sew on a button, patch a pair of jeans, or mend a tear? I’m guessing a lot less than 50 years ago.
