Welcome

Hello and welcome to B-Bot Clothing! I’m Brynn, the founder/owner/operator/creator/maker/designer/buyer/ marketer/socialmediamanager/everyhatwearer. I do everything around here and am just going where it takes me! B-Bot Clothing is all about upcycling and refashioning clothes with the intention of making unloved clothes wearable and loved again. The goal is to be as sustainable as possible and be part of creating a more cyclical fashion industry.

I’m not sure if anyone knows exactly what they are getting into before they start their own business, but what a wild ride it has been already. That’s both in a good way, as it has been a lot of fun and I’ve met so many amazing people, and in a “it’s been insane” kind of way, as it has tested and stretched me in so many ways that I didn’t even know were possible. The learning curve has been basically vertical. I think it helps that I love learning, but it’s been a huge feat trying to figure everything out on my own. Yes, there is all the information I need on the internet, but to sift through it all and get the information that pertains to me needs a whole bachelors degree in itself. I love it all though, some things more than others, but it’s all going to be worth it I think.

The reason I decided to start this business is twofold. The first part being that I love thrifting. But like so many people, have always found it hard to find clothes in my size or that fit me. So I started buying clothes I liked based off of the fabrics and prints and would alter them to fit better. This opened up a whole world of possibilities for what I could buy and wear. The second part of why I decided to start B-Bot Clothing is that during my sociology degree, I started learning about the globalization of the fashion industry and the social and political systems that are involved in the oppression of human beings, and the utter destruction of our precious planet. Digging into the fashion industry, I started learning about the impact of fast fashion in particular, and the insane amounts of clothes that are being produced and disposed of each year and it struck a nerve. I knew I had to start doing something about it, and I knew that I could.

So cue the entrance of B-Bot Clothing! I’m so proud of the small business I have created and am excited to run with the punches! It’s not easy, boy is it not easy, but I trust myself to know that I can do this and I have the best support in the world from all of my family and friends, and now new small business owner friends that I have been meeting!
